PSU NSSLHA Presents: Multilingual Phonetics Club with Dr. Gildersleeve-Neumann

  • 05 Feb 2021
  • 12:00 PM - 1:00 PM
  • via Zoom

This week, the Multilingual Phonetics Club will be focusing on Tagalog (Filipino)! A fellow SPHR student who is bilingual in English and Tagalog has volunteered to educate us on some of the intricacies of this beautiful language. Get ready to listen to Tagalog, practice your transcription skills, learn about Filipino culture, and engage in group discussions about Tagalog phonetics and its similarities and differences across multiple languages. This is an open event, all are welcome!

Here is a link (https://sites.google.com/pdx.edu/multicsd/languages/tagalog-filipino?authuser=0) for some background information on Tagalog (Filipino) and its phonetics! If you have time, this reading will be useful for the club meeting and discussion.

If you would like to collaborated with the Multilingual Phonetics Club on a language you are fluent in for a future meeting, please reach out to Dr. Gildersleeve-Neumann or Christina Dubicki (cegn@pdx.edu, cdubicki@pdx.edu)

We look forward to seeing you soon!
