The Foundation for the Advancement of Cleft Education and Services (FACES Foundation) recently honored Robert Blakely for “A Lifetime of Meritorious Service.”  A dinner and live auction was held to raise money for the Robert Blakeley Distinguished Speech and Language Fellowship to aid in helping children in third world countries with congenital speech disabilities.  Additionally, the event helped FACES continue its ongoing work of providing comprehensive care to cleft lip and palate children and their families in these countries.  Speakers for the evening included Dr. Tom Albert, Dr. Xia Tian, Governor Barbara Roberts, Mandy Nelsen, RN and Dr. Jeff Israel.  The live auction was conducted by JillMarie Wiles.  Many friends, professional colleagues, past patients and supporters attended this celebration for a gentleman who has contributed so much to this work.
