Town Hall Meetings 2010
Dear OSHA Members,
In May, the OSHA board moved to sponsor informal public meetings across Oregon to present initial findings of the OSHA Professional Standards Review Committee (PSRC) and invite professionals in the speech and hearing sciences to voice their opinions regarding the issue of consolidated speech-language pathology licensure in Oregon. Participation is also being encouraged from other stakeholders in K-12 education, such as Oregon Department of Education and Oregon School Personnel Administrators Association. Significant resources, both volunteer time and finances, will be offered by OSHA in support of these events. What can you expect as an OSHA member at the town halls? Food and beverage, current information from the research of PSRC, and an invitation to make your voice heard. The agenda for all town halls will be the following:
6:30 Introductions and Welcome
6:35 Presentation of Initial Findings of PSRC
7:00 Break out into facilitated small group discussion
7:30 Presentation of small group input to whole group
7:50 Question & Answer
8:00 Adjourn
A good faith effort has been made to hold the events in locations with a high number of OSHA members and that are accessible within that region. Regions include Newport, Eugene, Medford, Portland, and Pendleton. Dates and locations are listed below. All meetings start at 6:30PM.

The board recognizes that summer is a tough time for people to meet because of travel and differing schedules. The Technology Committee has been working to provide alternate methods of participation for the Portland Town Hall on 07/26. You can follow tweets about the town hall through OSHAWeb on Twitter. Or dial 1-877-643-6951 and enter passcode #41016988 to join toll-free via teleconference.
You will find the initial findings from the Professional Standards Review Committee here. If at any point you would like the latest information on the plans for these town halls, please contact the OSHA office at 503-370-7019 or julie@profadminserv.com. I look forward to seeing those of you who are able to participate in these events and hearing your perspective on the issue.
Sincerely,
Wendy Gunter
OSHA President
