The Purpose of OSHA

The Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association (OSHA) is recognized as the official professional organization for Oregon speech-language pathologists, audiologists, and speech-language pathology assistants by the Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA).

The Oregon Speech-Language-Hearing Association is an organization of like-minded professionals dedicated to providing the highest level of communication potential to persons of all ages. In order to empower our members and facilitate advocacy, we:

  1. Promote the study of human communication, hearing and related disorders and increase interest in the investigation, prevention, and treatment of its disorders.
  2. Support the individual and collective professional interests of the Association’s members.
  3. Advocate for the rights of persons with communication, hearing and related disorders.
  4. Facilitate the exchange of information among members of the Association to improve clinical services by enhancing and maintaining the highest level of knowledge and skills.

The OSHA Vision

Every year, OSHA will use multiple communication media to promote best practice methods and ethical principles in the professions of audiology and speech-language pathology.

Oregon Licensure

To practice Speech-Language Pathology or Audiology in Oregon, a license from the Board of Examiners is required by law.
