Abstract:
Assessment of dysarthria will be presented within the framework of the International Classification of Function, Disability and Health (ICF).  This framework gives clinicians a way to organize the biopsychosocial consequences of dysarthria.  Evidence based practice guidelines will be presented as a means of assisting in clinical decision making.

Learning Objectives:
Learners will be able to:
  1. To define dysarthria within the ICF framework.
  2. To describe approaches to assessment of impairments, activity limitations and participation restriction associated with dysarthria
  3. To translate the results of the assessment into a treatment plan for people with dysarthria
  4. To discuss results of systematic reviews of intervention for velopharyngeal dysfunction, respiratory/phonatory dysfunction, and speech supplementation.
